My grumpy little rant =)

Many Democrats are quietly rooting for a shutdown on the belief that it will make Republicans look extreme and saw the members of Boehner’s caucus about to run out of other options.- FoxNews.com

Of all the people you know and interact with on a daily basis, do you know any who would go to work and work their hardest when they're not getting paid? That's right, the U.S. Military! If this government shutdown happens, the hardest working Americans will be going to work just as much as they do regularly without being paid for their hours until the government can afford it (sorry, but that's the most RIDICULOUS thing I've heard) What does this also mean?? Military wives are going to have to work harder at everything they do to provide for their family. I have overheard people say things like this: "well if you're in the military you're living on base in military housing anyways so they'll be fine." I'm appalled that people are so ignorant and care so little about those that protect their lives daily.

Meanwhile, instead of diligently trying to work out a solution to prevent this from happening, Republicans and Democrats are bickering like siblings, trying to sneak in abortion and environmental conservation laws with this crisis, and in my above quote- Democrats are just being idiots! Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't care about these issues that are trying to be tied in, I just believe that if there is a crisis where millions of hardworking Americans will still be putting their lives on the line for everyone, including those who hold the fate in their hands, the biggest issue should be the first and only thing addressed.

Sure, I'm very biased in this issue because it personally affects me. Regardless, I come from a military family and would still be having the same reaction if I wasn't a Coast Guard wife. This military shutdown will devastate military personel and their families, yet the government can't seem to pull together to even make some sort of decision as to what to do.

Oh America, what have we come to?
